Creature Design w/ Jerad Marantz

I'm sure I've said this to a lot of people but I really respect Jerad Marantz, his class was entertaining because he was really cool (and extremely intelligent) and I probably learned the most from his class. :)

On a side note, having to look through Rotten.com for inspiration and reference, made me realize how lucky we are to be alive. There are so many accidental deaths, car crashes, etc. that I'm honestly surprised I managed to live to level 23. It almost makes me wonder who I know, in my life, will one day randomly be gone. :(

Also...During Jerad's class I had a really hypocritical moment. Since reference is the key I was looking up pictures of starving people. And while browsing through African children who were covered in maggots yet still barely alive, I realize how cruel that exact moment was. That I was using that reality to produce entertainment. We're taking the reality of starvation, murder, injustice and creating fantasy. For who? First World Moral Problems.

Oh my gosh. I finally finished this. It has limited animating because I realized how much I suck at it but the story (created by Chris Quinonez) is amazinggg. So please watch!

Random Artsy Fartsy Thing

I was in a lousy mood.

Daily Bruin

            

I used to be an illustrator for UCLA's newspaper, the Daily Bruin. These are just some of the better ones haha.

Back in the Day. (Ceramics)

This comes apart into two separate pieces and can stand either way with the

dragon at top/tiger at bottom and vice versa. When separated, they both also stand either way as well

Assignment was to make the glaze/"painting" of our ceramic piece 3D. This was also an installation piece using a projector.

Assignment was to just make a replica of something taller than 8 inches.

Do not know why I picked something way way longer than tall.

Assignment was to take a classical piece and make it contemporary

the teapot I made where the head is the handle and the tea comes out the other way.

I know i posted some of these already but I'm just trying to re-organize it again. Anyways these are just some ceramics I did while at UCLA. I'll upload more tomorrow.
